tomatoes!

So I made some of the tomato favours. I think they're pretty darned cute. I ordered the fabric... some kind of shot cotton and some felt from Purl. I also ordered some embroidery thread but can't for the life of me find it in the coach house!

I've got seven done, I think... so just 43 to go!

Must. do. crafts.

Remember how I posted wayyyyy back about those tomato pincushions from Martha? Well I did a test run, and it wasn't too hard and they're pretty cute, so I've ordered the proper fabric to do a bunch of red ones and a couple of token green ones.

Now I just have to work up the energy to make them. Being an academic librarian in September really takes it out of one, let me tell you. Man alive! And my plans for getting back in shape have been disrupted somewhat although I had one heck of a run on the treadmill yesterday and am keen to get back on it tomorrow (when I've got the day off - yeah!).

We've both been in a planning lull, but I got an e-mail from the knot today saying that the wedding is 9 months away and when I relayed the info to Pip he had a mini freak out so I think it's time to pick it up again. Meetings! Crafts! Working out! Shopping! Registering!

Oof... I'm tired just thinking of it.

This re-found objects store...

is very very cool. I like the organization of it. Very clever. And they have such neat stuff!

favors, yo!

I was taking a look at my budget on the knot, which we're trying to keep at a reasonable 10 to 15 grand and the favor budget is measley... so it would be more of a token thing than anything really wild and extravagant.

Enter these rad shell candies:

From Koppers Chocolates found via The Bride's Guide. I can't imagine they'd be very expensive, and wrapped in a little cellophane bag tied with an el cheapo ribbon, some raffia, or a wee sticker (hello! I have stickers!), how cute!

Whew, I feel better. Now I just need to find out what candy store stocks these bad boys.

gift idea

These are super cute and go with the earth/people friendly strategy I hope to take. This and the last post are via the Bride's Guide.

Favours/decorations

Love, love, love these "homegrown" tomato pincushions from Martha. If we want to do them we should start NOW.
