grace kelly

Martha B. over at Nibs did a post today on Grace Kelly's wedding dress.  All I can say is oooooh. The dress reminds me very much of this Vogue pattern:

I've loved this pattern for ages and thought about having it made for our wedding, but then I realized that I don't have Grace Kelly's waistline and that it requires about a million yards of fabric and that good lace is rather expensive and chose another pattern that's perfect (and secret).  But there you go - if you want to look like Grace Kelly and you have a good seamstress - voila!

One more picture via Nibs, though, just to provoke another oooooooh:

Cute dress!

Nice price, too. From Joules. I think drapey fabrics suit me a bit better, but this would be lovely on my friend Meaghan, who's also getting married next summer.

bridesmaid dress

a possibility for my sister from Marc Jacobs, on sale at netaporter.

if you're not averse...

... to the idea of getting your wedding dress online, this lovely Phillip Lim number would be perfect. Me, I need to at least try it on in person first.

cute dress!

I forget where I orignally heard about Aurelio Costarella, but this dress from his Spring/Summer 08 is just too cute. I like how the hem is petal-like. And the straps! Perfection. I don't think this would be too becoming on my womanly figure but it's cute as a button on the wee model.

And what's with all the amazing Aussie designers? Where did they all come from?

Yes, I know... Australia...

if we were having a punk wedding

this Pucci dress would be totally rad:
but we're not.

If I had fab legs and a bigger budget I would get this Temperley dress:

but I don't... yet. Watching the sales.....

Something to watch...

Bell'ancora has dresses that were worn once or not at all... a good place to check from time to time. They should have an RSS feed, really.

This Reem Acra gown was regularly 6 grand for 2.5. Not bad, if you're into gowns.
