une robe pour ma soeur

Yay!!! Another thing accomplished! My matron of honour/sister now has a dress. It is sooooo cute on her. Probably because she is soooooo cute!

Still alive, still getting married

So as of today it is officially TWO WHOLE MONTHS since I've posted. I've talked to a lot of brides, and I hear that a phase of wedding-overload-don't-show-me-another-bloody-centerpiece-or-clutch-or-ANYTHING is completely normal, and I think I just went through mine.

These days there is just so much information out there for us brides to be. It's fantastic! I don't have to buy those frou-frouey magazines (except Martha, always) that make me feel sick to my stomach because there are so many hip, crafty people out there who are free and easy with their wonderful ideas. On the other hand, though, is the information overload. As a librarian, I'm careful to avoid going overboard with my patrons ("if you want to find everything you have to search five gazillion places, but for your little assignment you can just tip tap type and you're done").

Like the doctor who ignores her symptoms, I ignored mine. I flew through the wedding feeds in my Google Reader in favor of knitting, design, travel... and weeks and months went by without anything being ticked off our loooooonnng list of to-dos from The Knot. UGH. But now we're slowly accomplishing things. We know where we're going to have our rehearsal dinner, we know where we're getting our cakes and things from, I know what I'm wearing, I know what I'm doing with my hair... phew!

So, some details in no particular order:

Our venue, the Gladstone Hotel, was featured this week on some of my favorite blogs: Design*Sponge, and poppytalk.

I'm working with the lovely Chelsea of ohmydeer on something pretty for my hair.  Chelsea and talented hubby Tec had, I think, my favorite. wedding. ever.  Although, now that I think about it, Lena Corwin's is right up there too...

Back to more regular posting as of riiiight..... NOW!
